I recently purchased the Omnia for Verizon wireless. I went from the Lg Chocolate to the Omnia which was a huge difference in phones. At first i liked the whole Idea of the phone and it was pretty cool having a touch screen, but as i used the phone i began to dislike it more and more.
1. Touch screen: I thought the response of the touch screen was very poor. I would go to click the messages and would take me to my Phone book. This screen does not compare to the i phone at all, i phones touch screen is by far the best out there.
2. The battery life: I cant complain about this phones battery life. It would go the whole day without needed to be charged, unless i used it to play my music, but other than that i cant complain.
3. Texting and Emailing: The texting on this phone was not what i expected. The keys where way to close and i would always have to backspace and correct every word i tried to spell. I am only 17 years old so i don't do much emailing so i really wouldnt know what that was like.
4. Media: This may be one of the phones best features. It has an 8 Gb card built in to to the phone and windows media player very useful. The only problem with this is that it doesnt have a build in phone jack, you have to use the adapter that comes with it and it makes it look just stupid.
5. Calling: The calls on this phone are pretty clear. Verizone always has good service never had a problem with low bars on any of my verizon phones.
6. camera: The camera on this phone is great. 5.0 megapixle camera with auto focus. The pictures where clear as day, jsut like a digital camera only in a phone wich is pretty cool.
7. OS: The os works somewhat, but was very non responsive when i tryed to flip the fone for txting or jsut to use it sideways. Always took a few seconds for each button i pressed to appear. All in all not that very good of an OS.
Overall: The omnia was a good but failed in some parts. The lack of screen response and laggy operating system makes this phone non camparable to the blackberry storm. If you like to txt I dont recomend this phone.
